Following his loss to Maki Pitolo at UFC 250, Charles Byrd announced his retirement from MMA.
“Never thought I’d say this at this moment but I’m ok and accepting that sometimes things in life dont go as expected,” said Byrd in a Facebook post Saturday night.
The fight was Byrd’s 17th as a pro and his fourth in the UFC. The 36-year-old made his professional MMA debut in 2009.
Being finished in the second round with ground and pound by Pitolo, Byrd’s losing streak was stretched to three-straight.
