Saturday’s UFC event has seen another short-notice change, as Mark Striegl has been taken out of his bout against Timur Valiev and has been replaced by Trevin Jones. News of Striegl’s departure was first reported by Nolan King of MMA Junkie, with the following report about Jones coming from Igor Lazorin.
Jones will be making his UFC debut, competing against Valiev after over a year’s absence from competitive MMA. His last fight was in May of 2019, defeating Takafumi Otsuka on a DEEP Impact card.
Valiev will also be making his UFC debut. His resume is an impressive one, carrying a six-fight winning streak into the cage including four wins in high-level promotion PFL.
