Former RIZIN and DEEP Jewels fighter Kana Watanabe has signed a multi-fight deal contract with Bellator. Per a report from Nolan King of MMA Junkie, the undefeated flyweight joins the promotion after 10 fights in Japan.
Watanabe has had a strong pro career since 2017, picking up nine wins and one draw. She has fought four times in major Japanese MMA promotion RIZIN.
Watanabe last competed in late December, defeating Ilara Joanne late in the third round. The fight was part of a card put on by Bellator and RIZIN in Saitama, Japan.
Watanabe’s signing comes after a surprisingly quiet year for the prospect, as previous years in the 32-year-old’s career saw her fight four times.
Watanabe has two wins over experienced flyweight Shizuka Sugiyama, both happening in RIZIN.
