MMA heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko has been discharged from a hospital in Moscow, Russia, after previously being admitted due to COVID-19. TASS reported the update on Emelianenko earlier in the week.
It was reported last week that Emelianenko, 44, was admitted to a hospital due to his battle with COVID-19. The veteran MMA fighter put out a reassuring update to the public while in treatment.
“Thanks to all who are genuinely concerned for my health … I feel fine, I am going into recovery. I’m grateful to the doctors and medical staff for their care and hard work,” said Emelianenko per a translation reported by RT Sport.
Emelianenko is currently under contract with North American MMA promotion Bellator. His last fight was in December of 2019, where he defeated Rampage Jackson within a round with punches.
Emelianenko is known as one of the most popular MMA fighters to never compete in the UFC.
