UFC Looking To Book Amanda Ribas vs. Virna Jandiroba For October PPV

UFC is looking to give Amanda Ribas a fight on their October 30th pay-per-view card against Virna Jandiroba, per a report from Marcelo Barone and Raphael Marinho of Combate.

The fight is being aimed to happen at UFC 267, which does not have a confirmed location at the moment.

Should the fight be confirmed, it will be Ribas’ first assignment since having her undefeated UFC record finished earlier this year. Ribas had a four-fight UFC win streak snapped in January, as Marina Rodriguez stopped her in the second round with punches.

The loss slowed down the momentum that Ribas had built recently, gaining a following and quickly shooting up the strawweight rankings.

Ribas was set to make her return against Angela Hill earlier this year, although two bookings against her were removed from cards due to COVID-19 protocol.

Jandiroba is getting the booking against Ribas after earning a win last month, dominating Kanako Murata for two rounds before a doctor stoppage called an end to their bout. The fight moved Jandiroba’s UFC record to three wins and two losses.

The only other fight currently expected to happen at UFC 267 is a UFC Light Heavyweight Championship fight between Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira.
