Cheyanne Bowers, Undefeated Veronika Borisova Matched Up For LFA Interim Flyweight Title

A pair of flyweight prospects will battle to earn gold in the LFA, and may even be the promotion’s undisputed champ by the time their fight comes around.

Cheyanne Bowers and Veronika Borisova have been booked to face off for the vacant interim LFA Flyweight Championship for the promotion’s September 20th card in Prior Lake, Minnesota, USA.

While Bowers and Borisova are currently booked to battle only for an interim title, their fight early next month the fight might get upgraded. LFA’s Ed Soares noted in a press release that if current flyweight champion Shannon Clark gets signed onto the UFC roster following her September 3rd fight on “Dana White’s Contender Series,” the division’s main title will be vacated and put on the line in the upcoming main event, giving the fight bigger stakes.

Borisova will be wagering her undefeated pro record when challenging for the title in September. After capturing a title in Kazakhstan-based promotion Naiza FC last year, Borisova debuted in America with a decision win over Nejra Repp at LFA 186. She enters this weekend with an experience edge on Bowers, having put together a longer pro record and debuting a year before her.

Bowers has gone on a run of four consecutive wins since dropping her first pro appearance. Among her victories have been a pair of finish wins in LFA just earlier this year, catching Whittany Pyles with a first-round armbar and stopping Naomie Young with strikes.

LFA announced a lengthy 16-fight card for their next trip to Minnesota, including numerous undefeated prospects. Here’s how the show looks:
