Eight-fight UFC vet Casey Kenney is facing serious charges following allegations of a disturbing domestic violence incident.

Kenney was arrested in Phoenix, Arizona last week and handed numerous charges in relation to an alleged incident which took place on July 21st, per documents obtained by Damon Martin of MMA Fighting.

The 33-year-old is facing one count of kidnapping, aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, and three other counts of assault.

According to a probable cause statement filed by the Maricopa County court, the arrest came after Kenney was allegedly “repeatedly striking, slapping, biting, headbutting, and choking” the victim in mid-July.

The statement claims Kenney attacked the victim for “several hours,” causing visible damage on her lip, arms, and neck. A police report from the same period of time mentioned that the alleged victim was treated by paramedics following the incident.

The kidnapping charge comes from the allegation that Kenney held the victim for 13 hours, “routinely grabbing hold of [the victim] and holding her in place during her attempts [to escape] while threatening to cause more physical harm.” Kenney allegedly also threatened to use a firearm on anyone who would arrive at the house, including the victim’s mother.

UFC has released Kenney following his arrest earlier this month, marking the end of a run which first started in 2019. The Portland, Indiana-born bantamweight had gone inactive in recent years, with his last fight for the promotion being a split decision loss against Song Yadong in 2021.

Kenney is expected to have a preliminary hearing on Monday.
