ONE Championship To Be Featured In Fictional Sports Film ‘The Beast In Me’

ONE Championship will play a major role in an upcoming film involving Russell Crowe and Daniel MacPherson.

The Asia-based combat sports promotion will be depicted in the upcoming film “The Beast In Me,” which sees MacPherson play a veteran MMA fighter reviving his career after the sudden passing of his brother.

Crowe will have a trainer role for MacPherson, a fighter who will make his return under the ONE Championship banner in the film. News of the collaboration was first reported by Patrick Frater of Variety on Wednesday.

“The Beast In Me,” which will be directed by Tyler Atkins and produced by Broken Open Pictures, is expected to begin filming late this year and continue into 2025. Among the shooting locations will be a ONE Championship event in Bangkok, Thailand next year.

The upcoming film joins a growing list of MMA movies featuring real-life MMA promotions. Earlier this year, Conor McGregor played a supporting role in a “Road House” remake, which saw former UFC fighter Dalton begin a new bouncer career in the Florida Keys.

Halle Berry’s 2020 film “Bruised,” which follows Jackie “Pretty Bull” Justice as she tries to start anew in MMA, worked alongside women’s regional brand Invicta FC.
