Luis Pajuelo has been given a lengthy suspension by Combat Sport Anti-Doping (CSAD), ending any UFC hopes for at least the next two years.
Pajuelo was cut by the UFC and given a 24-month suspension after failing a pair of CSAD drug tests, per a press release issued this week.
In two different instances during August, Pajuelo tested positive for 19-norandrosteron and had an Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry analysis that found “values consistent with the exogenous origin of testosterone,” violating the program’s rules.
Following the tests, Pajuelo admitted that he had used a banned substance.
The sanction not only puts a sudden end to Pajuelo’s UFC run after just one fight, but the suspension means he is essentially banned from returning to the promotion until August 23rd, 2026.
29-year-old Pajuelo was signed onto the UFC roster last year following a first-round finish win over Robbie Ring on “Dana White’s Contender Series.” He had an unsuccessful promotional debut in March, getting submitted in less than three minutes by Fernando Padilla.
