PFL’s schedule only continues to expand.
The promotion’s Chairman, Donn Davis, announced the plan for 30 events next year, along with a rough sketch of how that might go.
A post on X from Davis confirmed that PFL’s main season will begin in March, around the same time when it has started annually since 2018.
April will see regional tournaments from the PFL in Europe and the Middle East begin. PFL will be hosting its third European season and is coming back to the Middle East after presenting its first-ever bracket there in 2024.
Then in May, a new offshoot tournament focused on Africa will begin.
PFL Africa has been hyped by the company heavily since 2023 when they announced former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou as the brand’s official Chairman.
No details have been shared regarding how the tour will operate yet. However, if PFL Africa follows the same format as the promotion’s European and Middle Eastern leagues, it will present four single-elimination brackets made up of eight fighters each, taking place over the course of four shows.
PFL has also announced that the “Champions Series” will return in April.
The “Champion Series” first debuted in 2024 as a Bellator tour. The shows are not linked to any of PFL’s year-long tournaments and instead are one-off events similar to “Fight Night” cards hosted by the UFC.
While PFL says the “Champions Series” will begin in April, the company notably also has a show under the tour announced for January 25th in Dubai.
Davis’ post made no mention of Bellator events for 2025, leaving it unclear whether the brand will continue to host events just over a year after being acquired by the PFL.
Here’s a quick recap of the schedule:
March: PFL Global Season begins
April: PFL Champions Series, PFL Europe and PFL Middle East begins
May: PFL Africa begins
