GFL Reveals Full 120-Fighter Roster For 2025 Season

The Global Fight League (GFL) unveiled its complete 120-person roster on Friday night, presenting a finalized list of who will fight as part of their opening season.

A long list of fighters—most of which come from past experience in the UFC or PFL—have been moved into six 20-person teams who are expected to fight over the course of 2025 to earn their squads points in a regular season and subsequent playoffs.

The talent was selected from a pool of more than 300 talents who have been announced over the past few weeks, with some last-minute additions like former UFC title challenger Tony Ferguson being announced just hours before Friday’s broadcast went live.

The fighters will represent Dubai, Los Angeles, London, Miami, Sao Paulo, and New York.

Dubai had the first pick of Friday’s broadcast, with the team selecting former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley to join their roster. If Woodley competes in 2025, he’ll be fighting under MMA rules for the first time in over four years and searching for his first win since 2018.

Other early picks gave a spotlight to names like Gegard Mousasi, Kevin Lee, and Fabricio Werdum.

The nearly three-hour broadcast laid out the full rosters by the end, although it didn’t come without some issues. Timur Valiev, a fighter who has announced for Team Dubai, previously claimed in a recent social media post that he didn’t sign a deal with the GFL. A variety of other fighters who went undrafted—Razhabali Shaydullaev, Matheus Scheffel, Tariq Ismail, and Stephen Costello—also similarly said they never inked a deal with the GFL despite being announced for the draft.

GFL plans to kick off its first season in April and host an event every month for six months, per Friday’s broadcast. No official broadcast details or event locations have been revealed just yet.
