KSI Out of Boxing Match Against Bellator Alum Dillon Danis

A boxing clash later this month between former Bellator fighter Dillon Danis and internet star KSI is off.

The six-round, 185-pound fight between the polarizing figures was scheduled to take place on March 29th in Manchester, England. However, it was revealed Friday that an illness has taken KSI out of the booking.

“I tried my hardest, and my body has legit just given up,” KSI said in a social media post, mentioning that he has been dealing with a sickness for nearly three weeks. “I’m currently in bed, taking antibiotics, trying to recover but I’m struggling … I’ve tried sparring and training but my body just feels weak. My stamina has just fallen off a cliff. I can’t even taste right now or even smell. Basically, I’m just f*****.”

A fight between Danis and KSI has now been cancelled twice. The duo were initially set to collide in early 2023, although that matchup was dropped after Danis withdrew from the booking.

Danis, a fighter who comes from a grappling background, gained prominence in the late 2010s for his loud and controversial online personality. While he had a short MMA run in Bellator—scoring a pair of first-round submission wins a few years back—it was his words outside of the cage that have garnered him more than 5 million Instagram followers.

Danis notably fought in an exhibition boxing match against online influencer Logan Paul a year and a half ago, losing via disqualification.

KSI has been heavily involved in influencer boxing since 2018. Through exhibition and pro appearances he has fought eight times. He hasn’t been seen in the ring for over a year due to four different fights getting cancelled.

The March 29th boxing card is now without its main event. Still intact is a 200-pound meeting between former UFC fighters Darren Till and Darren Stewart, who are expected to fight in an eight-round contest.
