UFC’s Sedriques Dumas Allegedly Bruised, Robbed Ex-Girlfriend Prior To Arrest: Florida Police

A recently-obtained police document alleges that UFC middleweight Sedriques Dumas was arrested last week after an altercation with an ex-partner, which left her bruised, scratched, and “crying and shaking.”

Dumas was arrested in Escambia County in Florida, USA last week and hit with a long list of serious charges.

Felony home invasion robbery without a firearm, felony possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, felony possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor battery, and misdemeanor drug equipment possession and/or use were all given to Dumas, who remains in prison with a bond of $558,000.

Shortly following his arrest, details were scarce regarding what caused Dumas to be held on the extensive list of offences. However, now that numerous news sources have obtained a report from the Escambia County Police Department, new key details have emerged as to what was alleged to have happened.

Police say they responded to a call late last month regarding a disturbance between Dumas and his ex-girlfriend, who is the mother of his children. It was alleged by the ex-girlfriend—who Knockdown News will not identify by name for privacy reasons—that Dumas entered the residence in an aggressive manner, then “forcefully” took her phone while she was on a phonecall with her current boyfriend.

As Dumas allegedly left the house with her phone in hand, he was warned that he would go to jail. The victim claimed that he then responded by saying: “If I’m going to jail, then I’m going to get my rings back.”

It’s alleged that Dumas came toward the victim and attempted to take a ring off her finger, failing to do so after a struggle. She then states that he “threw her around the room,” causing a wooden vase to be knocked over in the process. A necklace worth $400 was alleged to have been taken by Dumas during an altercation inside the house.

Dumas drove off from the residence, only briefly allegedly returning to throw the victim’s phone into the front yard.

Police arrived at the house afterwards, where they say they found the victim “crying and shaking.” They observed that she had scratches and bruises on her right leg and right arm, and also noticed small scratch marks around her fingers.

While the victim was being interviewed by police, she noted that Dumas and his current girlfriend were attempting to call her on the phone.

Later that evening, police visited Dumas’ residence and searched the property after being granted access by his current girlfriend. Police claim that Dumas was found “hiding in a dog crate in a shed on the back of the property.”

When police interviewed Dumas, the UFC fighter claimed that he was given permission to visit the victim’s residence to get “items that belonged to him.” He said that he was given the necklace from the victim, but alleged that the victim “started hitting him” after he asked for the ring as well. He claims that the aforementioned wooden vase was thrown at him, causing a scratch on his leg.

Police say a search of Dumas’ car and house found 51 grams of marijuana, a handgun, half-burnt joints, and a marijuana grinder, all of which were seized for the investigation.

Dumas is scheduled for an arraignment on May 23rd.

Dumas is no stranger to run-ins with the law. Last year, he was arrested on misdemeanor battery just weeks before a scheduled UFC appearance. The charge was later dismissed.

It was uncovered in 2023, just ahead of his UFC debut, that Dumas had pled no contest in 2017 to a domestic violence charge, causing him to serve a year of probation.

Dumas’ legal track record hasn’t caused hesitancy from the UFC, which has booked him six times since his promotional debut in 2023. He most recently appeared last month at UFC 314, losing a bout to Michal Oleksiejczuk.
