James Gallagher Pulled From Bellator Dublin Fight Against Cal Ellenor Due To Injury

James Gallagher has been pulled from his Feb. 22 main event fight against Cal Ellenor at Bellator Dublin card due to an injury, as reported on Tuesday by Peter Carroll of MMAFighting.com.

Gallagher told fans on Instagram that he was taken off the fight due to a “back injury that has been going on for over 2 weeks now.”

Now currently in the headlining position for the show from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland is Leah McCourt and Judith Ruis.

McCourt has a 2-0 record in Bellator, most recently stopping Kerry Hughes with a rear-naked choke. Ruis will be making her Bellator debut.

The now-dubbed co-main event of the card is Brent Primus taking on Chris Bungard.

Gallagher is on a three-fight winning streak, most recently stopping Roman Salazar with a guillotine choke in the first round. He is one of the more well-known fighters coming out of Ireland’s Straight Blast Gym, which is most known for housing Conor McGregor.

Bellator Dublin will be the second-half of a Bellator doubleheader, with Bellator 239 taking place the night before from the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma, USA.
