UFC 251 has been announced for Perth, Australia, and already has a championship main event set for it.
As announced on Twitter by UFC, Valentina Shevchenko will put her UFC Flyweight Championship on the line against Joanne Calderwood. The event will be at the RAC Arena, and will take place on June 6th.
Shevchenko has already defended her belt once this year, stopping Katlyn Chookagian in the third round with grounded strikes.
She won the belt in late 2018, going to decision against Joanna Jedrzejczyk. She has since defended the belt three times since then.
Scotland’s Calderwood is 3-1 in her last four fights, most recently getting a split decision victory against Andrea Lee. Before then, she lost a decision fight against Katlyn Chookagian.
The championship meeting is the sole fight announced for UFC 251 currently.
