UFC 248’s early prelims has been limited to two fights, after Emily Whitmire versus Polyana Viana was taken off the card this morning. Later confirmed by MMA Fighting, it was tweeted by Viana on Saturday that “I heard she had been taken to the ER (emergency room).”
Whitmire had missed weight on Friday for their 115-pound fight, coming in at 117.5. She had given up 20% of her fight purse due to it. She appeared at the ceremonial weigh-ins later in the evening.
The early prelims now only feature two fights. Starting at 6:30PM EST, the Guido Cannetti versus Danaa Batgerel and Jamall Emmers versus Giga Chikadze are still set to happen.
The main card for UFC 248 begins at 10:00PM EST (7:00 PST) on pay-per-view.
