Charles Oliveira stopped Kevin Lee in the third round of a main event on Saturday at UFC Brasilia in Brasilia, Brazil.
The fight had two close rounds, ending abruptly in the third when Oliveira caught Lee with a guillotine choke. Lee was trying for a takedown, dropping to the ground and tapping out when going in the choke.
After the fight, Oliveira called out the winner of the UFC Lightweight Championship fight which is set to take place on April 18th.
“Tony Ferguson and Khabib (Nurmagomedov). I’ll be sitting there first row,” said Oliveira in the post-fight interview.
The show at the Ginasio Nilson Nelson was held without an audience as a precaution to the COVID-19 outbreak continuing worldwide.
In the co-main event of the evening, Gilbert Burns stopped Demian Maia within a round with punches.
The next UFC show is scheduled to be on March 21st, taking place in London, England. Headlining that show is Tyron Woodley and England’s own Leon Edwards. However, the ongoing developments in the COVID-19 issue leave the show hanging in the balance.
