A heavyweight battle between Alexander Volkov and Curtis Blaydes is set to headline a June 20th card, per an announcement from UFC on Wednesday.
The announcement for the event did not disclose a location where the ranked heavyweight matchup would take place.
Blaydes, who is ranked third in the heavyweight division, last fought in January, stopping Junior dos Santos in the second round of what was scheduled for five rounds. The win was his third in a row, moving his UFC record to 8-2 and 1 NC.
Volkov’s last fight was in November, being a decision win over Greg Hardy. Being absent for a year prior, Volkov bounced back from a brutal buzzer-beating knockout loss from Derrick Lewis. Volkov looks to climb in the rankings with the win, currently seated in seventh place in the division.
