Three new bouts were added to UFC’s August 1st event, which currently does not have a location set for it.
Yana Kunitskaya vs. Ketlen Vieira
A bantamweight bout between Yana Kunitskaya and Ketlen Vieira has seen its way onto this show, per a report by Farah Hannoun for MMA Junkie.
Vieira will look to win after losing for the first time in her career last December. The Brazilian previous had a 10-0 record, with four of the wins against UFC talent.
Kunitskaya will also be attempting to bounce back from a loss, last competing in December against Aspen Ladd. Kunistkaya has had a short yet interesting UFC career thus far, debuting in a title fight against Cris Cyborg. After that loss, Kunistskaya picked up two wins. She heads into her August 1st fight with a 2-2 UFC record.
Trevin Giles vs. Jun Yong Park
First announced on the Instagram of Trevin Giles, news broke that the 12-2 American fighter would face Jun Yong Park at the event.
Giles, who made his UFC debut in 2017, has went 3-2 since. He ended a two-fight losing streak in his last appearance, going to a split decision against James Krause.
Park was picked up by the UFC in 2019, debuting in August against Anthony Hernandez. Getting caught in a second-round anaconda choke, Park had a rough start. At UFC’s event in Busan, Korea last December, Park got his first UFC win, winning a decision over Marc-Andre Barriault.
Da Un Jung vs. Ed Herman
Park isn’t the only Korean fighter on the show, with Da Un Jung being booked against Ed Herman. First reported by Gyo Dok Lee of SPOTV News, the light heavyweight matchup is the third for Jung.
Being picked up by UFC in 2019, Jung has won his two fights via stoppage since. Including wins outside of the UFC, Jung heads into this fight after 12 consecutive wins.
Herman, a veteran in the UFC, will also look for his third-straight UFC win, having won his two 2019 pairings, which came against Patrick Cummins and Khadis Ibragimov.
