6/17 UFC Rankings: Calvillo Debuts At #2 As Flyweight

UFC’s ranking update on Wednesday saw Cynthia Calvillo debut at second place in the flyweight rankings, following a win over Jessica Eye last Saturday.

After losing her five-round battle on Saturday, Eye dropped three spots in the flyweight division, now ranked in fourth.

The entry of Calvillo in the 125-pound rankings moved everyone else below her in the division down one spot.

In a ripple effect of the division’s changes, Katlyn Chookagian got bumped up from second to first place.

Along with entering the flyweight rankings, Calvillo was placed 15th place in the women’s pound-for-pound rankings.

Calvillo’s transition from divisions, exiting the strawweight division left a spot empty in the 115-pound rankings open. Yan Xiaonan, Tecia Torres and Alexa Grasso all saw a jump in the rankings by one spot. Angela Hill joined the rankings at 13th place, and Felice Herrig dropped to 15th.

Vettori Crashes Rankings

After winning over Karl Roberson on Saturday night, Marvin Vettori was placed in the middleweight rankings. Being place in 14th, Vettori moved Antonio Carlos Junior to 15th place.

Smaller Movement

A win on Saturday night gave Jordan Espinosa a small bump, allowing him to overtake Tim Elliott for 12th place in the flyweight rankings.

Despite neither fighter competing last week, Sean O’Malley moved into 14th place, bumping Song Yadong to 15th.
