UFC’s August 1st event had another fight added to it recently, as a middleweight matchup between Markus Perez and Eric Spicely was booked for it. Reported by Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting first, the matchup joins the event which does not have a location announced yet.
The fight ends a year-long layoff for Spicely, who has had three fight bookings cancelled for various reasons since. Before then, he lost his UFC return to Deron Winn via decision.
Perez, who made his debut in 2017, has went back-and-forth between wins and losses since. With a 2-3 UFC record, Perez aims to even his record on August.
The August 1st event has a headlining bout booked between bantamweights Holly Holm and Irene Aldana. With seven fights currently scheduled, the card looks like this.
Bout 7: Holly Holm (13-5) vs. Irene Aldana (12-5) (Bantamweight)
Bout 6: Derek Brunson (20-7) vs. Edmen Shahbazyan (11-0) (Middleweight)
