UFC Fight Night: Luis Pena vs. Khama Worthy Play-by-Play

Finishing off the UFC preliminary card on Saturday, “Violent Bob Ross” Luis Pena fought Khama Worthy. The fight went like this.

Bout 4: Luis Pena (8-2) vs. Khama Worthy (15-6) (Lightweight)

Both fighters were throwing quick jabs early on. Their fidgety hands and quick movement made it seem like they were almost mirroring eachother. A takedown attempt was stopped by Worthy in the third minute of the fight. Worthy tried for full guard on top, but Pena was able to escape and get back to the feet. The tit-for-tat striking went through to the end of the round.

Pena was able to get a takedown early in the second round. He moved into side control while going down. He moved into full mount, putting in an arm triangle choke on Worthy. Pena let the hold go and got on the back of Worthy after he flipped over. Pena tried for the rear naked choke a few times from the position. Worthy was able to escape the position in the fourth minute, taking full guard on top. They got to the feet with a minute left, with Pena getting a takedown. Just like the time before, Pena landed in side control. He moved into full mount before getting on the back of Worthy again. Worthy got top position in full guard before the round ended.

Worthy landed a hard two-punch combination early in the final round. Pena failed to get a takedown in the second minute of the fight. He tried again halfway through the round, but Worthy was able to sprawl again. While getting up, Worthy slipped in a guillotine choke. They went back down with Worthy keeping hold of the choke until Pena tapped out.
