UFC Fight Night: Woodson vs. Erosa Play-by-Play

Kicking off UFC’s main card on Saturday, Sean Woodson fought Julian Erosa. Here’s how the fight went.

Bout 5: Sean Woodson (7-0) vs. Julian Erosa (23-8) (Catchweight 150-lbs)

Erosa was connecting with some leg kicks early. Woodson was very quick with his hands, feinting them around often. Woodson connected with lots of jabs early on. Erosa shot for a takedown with two minutes to go in the round, however Woodson was able to stop it quickly.

Erosa had Woodson against the cage early in the second round, being able to walk him down and score with some strikes. The hyper movement from Woodson that was in the first round was no longer showing.

Erosa was coming forward with strikes early in the final round. Woodson landed a left hook that dropped Erosa. He was able to get up shortly after and continue with striking. They were trading hooks on the feet after. Erosa got a takedown in the third minute of the fight. When they got back to the feet, Erosa tried for a d’arce choke. They went back down with the choke still in, making Woodson tap out eventually.

RESULT: Julian Erosa def. Sean Woodson via Submission, D’Arce Choke (RD 3, 2:44)

My Scorecard:

Fighter Round 1 Round 2 Round 3 Total
Woodson 10 9
Erosa 9 10
