Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker Win ‘Fight of the Night’ Award For June 27th UFC Main Event

A stunning and competitive five-round main event between Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker proved to be more than enough to win the “Fight of the Night” bonus after UFC’s show on June 27th.

The fight, which happened at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, saw Poirier win in a unanimous decision. The performance earned both fighters $50,000 as a bonus on top of their previously negotiated purses.

Bonuses of $50,000 were also handed out to Kay Hansen and Julian Erosa, who both won in their UFC debuts.

Hansen fought a close battle on the prelims against former Invicta FC Atomweight Champion Jinh Yu Frey. Hansen pulled off a triangle armbar mid-way through the final round to pull out a win.

Erosa, a short-notice replacement for Kyle Nelson impressed critics by stopping Sean Woodson with a d’arce choke in the third round. The American fighter handed Woodson his first loss in his now-eight fight professional career.
