Following COVID-19 tests taking numerous fighters off of UFC’s July 15th show, there were some holes to fill on the card from Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Putting Jack Shore back in the lineup for the show, Aaron Phillips will now be his opponent.
Returning to the UFC after a near six-year layoff, “The Model” Phillips will take a short-notice fight. The matchup was first reported by Nolan King and Simon Head of MMA Junkie.
Following his UFC run and a loss on the regional scene, Phillips took a break from MMA. He returned in 2018, starting a five-fight run of wins, with four of them being stoppage victories.
Shore’s original opponent was Anderson dos Santos, who was taken off of the card after a positive COVID-19 test. Shore, a former Cage Warriors Bantamweight Champion, made his UFC debut last fall with a rear naked choke win over Nohelin Hernandez.
The card currently has 10 fight scheduled including a five-round featherweight battle between Calvin Kattar and Dan Ige. Here’s the card currently.
