A fight between Polyana Viana and Emily Whitmire has been rebooked, now set for August 29th. The match was announced by Marcelo Barone of Combate.
Their original matchup was scheduled for early March on the UFC 248 pay-per-view card, however, it was thrown away after Whitmire was hospitalized due to her weight cut.
The fight will be a crucial one for Viana, who will attempt to break a three-fight losing streak in the UFC. Her sole UFC win comes from early 2018, where she caught Maia Kahaunaele-Stevenson with a rear naked choke.
Whitmire, a competitor on season 26 of TV series “The Ultimate Fighter” made her UFC debut in 2017. A two-fight winning streak was broken in 2019 after Amanda Ribas defeated her with a rear naked choke.
