Rose Namajunas vs. Jessica Andrade Given UFC 251 ‘Fight of the Night’ Award

Main card matchup between former UFC Strawweight Champions Rose Namajunas and Jessica Andrade was given the “Fight of the Night” award at UFC 251. The decision fight saw Namajunas win via unanimous decision on the main card of the pay-per-view from Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, Yas Island Emirates.

Being given the “Fight of the Night” award gives both fighters a bonus of $50,000 on top of their previously negotiated purse.

Namajunas and Andrade were the highest non-championship fight on the card, as later in the card the UFC had their bantamweight, featherweight and welterweight belts on the line.

Preliminary fighters Jiri Prochazka and Davey Grant were given $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonuses for their respective fights as well.

Prochazka finished off the UFC prelims defeating ranked light heavyweight Volkan Oezdemir. The former RIZIN Light Heavyweight Champion made his UFC debut in the fight, knocking Oezdemir out in the second round with punches.

Grant fought on the opening bout of the show, defeating Martin Day with a left hook in the third round. Having fought in the UFC since 2013, the fight was Day’s first finish victory since his promotional debut. Finalist of “The Ultimate Fighter” season 18, Grant is now on a two-fight winning streak.
