Less than a month after his victory over Philipe Lins, Tanner Boser will return on short notice to fight heavyweight Raphael Pessoa on UFC’s July 25th show. First reported by Nolan King of MMA Junkie, the matchup sees Boser replace Justin Tafa, who was originally booked for the matchup.
The matchup will be one of the now 14 fights booked for the show on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Boser had his best performance yet in the UFC in June, stopping Lins in the first round with punches. Previously he had a win and a loss in the promotion, both via decision.
Pessoa looks to build on his October win over Jeff Hughes, which was his first win in the UFC. He’s had trouble finding a fight in 2020 as this is now the fourth time he’s been matched with an opponent.
