A main card fight between Mounir Lazzez and Abdul Razzak Alhassan from Wednesday night was given UFC’s “Fight of the Night” bonus afterwards. For their performance, which took place on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Lazzez and Alhassan were given an extra $50,000 on top of their already negotiated fight purses.
The fight went the way of Lazzez after three rounds, who was making his promotional debut. Alhassan was returning to competition after a two year absence.
Two fighters from the preliminary card were awarded $50,000 for “Performance of the Night.”
In his first UFC outing, a dominant performance from Khamzat Chimaev over John Phillips gave him a bonus. Chimaev smothered Phillips on the ground with strikes early on, ending the fight in the second round with a d’arce choke. The fight kept the Swedish fighter undefeated through seven professional bouts.
Also given a bonus was Lerone Murphy, who picked up his first win in the UFC following a draw last September. Murphy stopped Ramos later in the first round with ground and pound striking.
