UFC Fight Night: Grant Dawson vs. Nad Narimani Play-by-Play

Grant Dawson fought Nad Narimani in a catchweight bout at 150-pounds on the prelims. Here’s how the bout went.

Bout 6: Grant Dawson (15-1) vs. Nad Narimani (12-3) (Catchweight 150 lbs)

Dawson started the fight by landing some calf kicks. Narimani stopped a takedown attempt early on. Dawson fell due to a kick, but landed a flying knee to the head as Narimani charged forward. Dawson got a takedown in the second minute, getting into full guard on top. Dawson switched between full half and half guard. Narimani was landing with some elbows from the bottom. Dawson moved into full mount with a minute-and-a-half to go. Getting on the back of Narimani, Dawson tried for a choke. He stayed on the back until the round ended.

After a hectic start to the second round on the feet, Dawson got a single leg takedown. Dawson landed strikes from half guard. At some point the strikes cut open Narimani, causing him to bleed somewhat. Narimani gave up his back with two minutes left in the round. On the back, Dawson tried for a rear naked choke. Dawson stayed on the back of Narimani until the round ended.

Dawson had strong striking to kick off the final round. Putting together punches, Dawson also landed leg kicks that were clearly hurting Narimani at this point. Narimani fell over in the fourth minute due to his legs being hurt. Dawson failed to get a takedown in the final minute. Narimani had a late push with strikes that Dawson stopped by clinching. Dawson got the win via decision after three rounds (30-26, 30-27 & 29-27).

RESULT: Grant Dawson def. Nad Narimani via Decision, Unanimous
