Peter Sobotta fought Alex Oliviera on UFC’s six-fight “Fight Night” on Saturday. Here’s how the matchup went.
Bout 10: Alex Oliveira (21-8-1) vs. Peter Sobotta (17-6-1) (Welterweight)
Sobotta got hurt in the second minute by a body kick from Oliviera. The kicks from Oliveira throughout the round, whether it went to the body or head, were successful.
Sobotta shot for the first takedown of the fight early in the second round, putting Oliveira up against the cage. They separated a minute-and-a-half into the round, never going to the ground. A cut opened on the top of Sobotto’s head. A pause came halfway through the round as a kick hit Sobotta in the groin. In the final minute of the round, Sobotta was poked in the eye. The eye poke came after many minutes of Oliviera having his lead had extended with his fingers out. Sobotta was dropped in the closing seconds of the round.
Oliviera got a takedown in the first minute of the third round. Oliveira continued to throw kicks and avoid most of Sobotta’s strikes. After three rounds of battle, Oliveira got the win (30-27, 30-27 & 30-27).
