Welterweights Vicente Luque and Randy Brown battle on the main card of UFC’s show on Saturday. Here’s how the battle went.
Bout 6: Vicente Luque (18-7-1) vs. Randy Brown (12-3) (Welterweight)
The fighters traded calf kicks early in the fight. Luque dropped Brown halfway through the round with a right hook. Luque took half guard on the ground after, not throwing any strikes. They got back on the feet with two minutes to go and continued to strike. Luque connected with a left hook in the final minute that rocked Brown. Brown stayed on his feet, but he did grab the cage to aid his balance. Brown clinched with Luque in the final minute of the round.
A groin kick to Brown paused the fight early in the second round. A leg kick dropped Brown in the second minute of the round. Brown was stood up by the referee after Luque did not attempt to go to the ground. Brown caught a leg kick in the fourth minute, countering with a spinning elbow to the head after. Brown got a takedown from a clinch with a minute left in the round. Luque got back to the feet 20 seconds later. While holding the head of Brown, Luque landed a knee to the head that dropped Brown. He landed a few punches after before the referee stepped in.
