Flyweight fighter Ray Borg was released from the UFC on Friday, ending his 12-fight stint in the promotion that started in 2014. News of the release was first reported by Damon Martin of MMA Fighting.
Borg’s UFC career had numerous cancelled fights, causing long periods of inactivity in his career. Many of the cancelled bouts were out of Borg’s control, as opponent injuries and family issues often caused him to withdraw.
Borg’s UFC run saw him get seven wins and five losses. His last fight came in May, where he lost a decision to Ricky Simon. Borg was scheduled to fight on an August 1st card, however, he withdrew on short notice.
