The five-round bout between Holly Holm and Irene Aldana has found a new date, as the fight has been moved to the headlining spot of UFC’s October 3rd show. News of the bout’s rescheduling was announced on Saturday night’s broadcast of UFC 252.
The bout between the two bantamweights was first set for a “Fight Night” on August 1st, although it was moved after Aldana tested positive for COVID-19.
Now set for October, the fighters will still look to build off of their previous wins heading into the fight. Aldana’s last two fights came in the final four months of 2019, defeating both Vanessa Melo and Ketlen Vieira, bouncing back from a loss earlier in the year to Raquel Pennington.
Holm’s last fight was a win over Pennington in January, bouncing back from a failed championship shot in 2019 against Amanda Nunes.
