Ranked lightweights will clash on October 3rd when Charles Oliviera faces Beneil Dariush on a UFC “Fight Night” card. News of the booking was first reported by Neri Fung of AGFight.
The fight will see both 155-pound fighters put their long-standing winning streaks on the line.
Dariush will wager his five-fight winning streak in the bout which started back in 2018. The latest of the streak came in August, where he stopped Scott Holtzman late in the first round with a spinning backfist.
Winning over Oliviera would push Dariush up the lightweight rankings, as Oliveira is currently ranked sixth, eight places below him.
Oliviera’s last fight came in March on UFC’s last show before taking a break due to COVID-19. Defeating Kevin Lee with a guillotine choke in the third round, Oliveira extended his winning streak to seven consecutive.
With the addition of Oliveira and Dariush, UFC’s October 3rd card has seven fights in total. The show recently had a headlining bout added to it in Holly Holm versus Irene Aldana. Here’s the show in it’s current state.
