Wellington Turman and Sean Strickland will collide for the first time on October 31st, joining UFC’s card on the date. News of the matchup was first reported by Adriano Albuquerque and Marcelo Barone of Combate.
The fight will be Strickland’s return to MMA following a two year absence. His last fight was in October of 2018, defeating Nordine Taleb in the second round with strikes.
Strickland will come back down to middleweight for the fight, as his last eight fights have taken place at welterweight.
Turman fought recently, losing in the first round to Andrew Sanchez on an August UFC show. Before the fight, Turman had a decision win over Markus Perez from November of 2019.
Turman becomes the fourth Brazilian name to join the UFC’s October 31st card. Currently set to participate in the late-October festivities is former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, who will fight Uriah Hall. Here’s the entire card currently.
