The first round saw both fighters explode with combinations of strikes at the same time. They would often connect at the same time. Grasso had a more diverse array of strikes, landing leg kicks along with her punches in the round.
The striking battle carried into the second round, with the fighters holding the same fast pace that was in the round before.
Grasso put Kim in a clinch in the second minute of the round, separating moments after. Grasso put Kim against the cage in a clinch halfway through the round. Grasso got a takedown with a minute to go in the fight. She kept half guard on top, landing some punches from the position until the round concluded. (30-27, 30-27 & 30-27)
