Ricardo Lamas and Bill Algeo Earn ‘Fight of the Night’ Bonus For August 29th UFC Card

Ricardo Lamas and Bill Algeo walked away from Saturday’s “Fight Night” card with an extra $50,000, as they earned the “Fight of the Night” award. Their main card fight saw Lamas get a decision victory in a fast-paced and competitive scrap.

Lamas announced after the fight that he is considering retirement, with fight possibly being his last.

The fight was Algeo’s UFC debut, as he took the place of Ryan Hall, who was taken off of the card earlier in the week. Despite losing, the performance was an impressive one for Algeo, rising his stock after the fight against a veteran in Lamas.

Two other performance bonuses were also handed out on the card, with $50,000 going to Mallory Martin and Sean Brady.

Brady’s win came on the prelims, catching Christian Aguilera in the second round with a guillotine choke. The win was Brady’s third since joining the UFC in 2019.

Martin put on a comeback performance, defeating Hannah Cifers in the second round with a rear naked choke. The fight saw Martin bounce back from her first UFC loss, which occurred last December against Virna Jandiroba.
