After a successful UFC debut last July, Mounir Lazzez is set to return against David Zawada on October 10th. News of the pairing was first reported by Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie on Wednesday.
Lazzez, a former Brave CF and UAE Warriors fighter made his UFC debut last July. Facing Abdul Razak Alhassan, Lazzez picked up a unanimous decision victory. The win extended his streak of wins to three-in-a-row and awarded both competitors the “Fight of the Night” award.
Zawada’s last fight was in November, stopping Abubakar Nurmagomedov with a triangle choke. The win snapped a two-fight losing streak for Zawada, giving him his first victory in the promotion.
The October 17th “Fight Night” card now has 11 bouts scheduled in total. The show, which is headlined by featherweights Brian Ortega and The Korean Zombie, is one of the many in October expected to take place from “Fight Island” at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
