Former KSW Lightweight Champion Mateusz Gamrot will make his UFC debut on October 17th, facing Magomed Mustafaev. First reported by Farah Hannoun and Dave Doyle of MMA Junkie, Gamrot will replace Renato Moicano, who withdrew from the fight earlier in the week.
Gamrot has kept an undefeated record through 17 fights in his pro career, with the majority of those fights coming in Polish MMA promotion KSW. Defeating Mansour Barnaoui, Gamrot claimed the promotion’s lightweight belt in 2016.
Gamrot has defended the belt four times since claiming it, also becoming a featherweight champion in 2018.
Gamrot returned to action last July after being absent from action since late 2018. Defeating Norman Parke at KSW 53, Gamrot returned a month later to defend his belt against Marian Ziolkowski.
With the new opponent, Mustafaev will look to bounce back from his February split decision loss to Brad Riddell.
