The fighters took turn throwing strikes to start the fight. Rivera was kept on the perimeter of the cage by Nam. Nam landed a right hook in the third minute of the fight that shook Rivera. A leg kick from Rivera in the fourth minute seemingly hurt Nam. Rivera landed a knee to the head in a clinch. Nam continued to throw multiple combinations of punches to Rivera, often going from the body to the head. They clinched for the closing moments of the fight.
Nam countered a kick with a right cross early in the second round that dropped Rivera. Nam threw punches on top that caused the fight to be stopped.
