After a series of events in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, LFA will move to the Hartman Arena in Park City, Kansas, USA on Friday for LFA 92. The seven-fight card includes a bantamweight main event between Kevin Wirth and Askar Askar. Here’s a preview of the show.
Main Card (9:00PM EDT / 8:00PM CDT) (UFC Fight Pass)
Bout 1: Dakota Bush (6-2) vs. Brian Del Rosario (5-3) (Lightweight)
Dakota Bush will return to LFA when he faces Brian Del Rosario on Friday. Bush has fought five times in LFA, with three of those bouts resulting in wins. His last fight, however, was a loss, dropping a decision to now-Bellator fighter Jaleel Willis. Del Rosario will enter the promotion after eight fights as a pro. His last fight was in November, stopping Dean Hancock in just over a minute. Del Rosario has a notable loss to UFC fighter Spike Carlyle.
Bout 2: Christian Natividad (1-0) vs. Jose Holguin (0-0) (Bantamweight)
Looking for his second win in his rookie year of pro MMA, Christian Natividad will face debuting fighter Jose Holguin. Natividad made his debut last July, picking up a first-round win over Michael Aquila. Holguin has fought in LFA before, although it was an amateur bout in late 2019 against Marquis Jones.
Bout 3: Viecheslav Borshchev (1-0) vs. Ali Zebian (4-1) (Lightweight)
Two lightweights early in their career in Viecheslav Borshchev and Ali Zebian will make their respective LFA debuts on the card. Borshchev made his pro debut in his last fight, stopping David Marques in under a minute in June of 2019. Zebian has won his last three, all via stoppage in 2019 and 2020.
Bout 4: Mefi Monterroso (5-1) vs. Rodney Kealohi (4-1) (Flyweight)
Mefi Monterroso will make his return to MMA on the card when he fights Rodney Kealohi. Monterroso’s last two combat sport outings were in boxing, losing in a late 2018 and early 2019 bout each. His last MMA fight dates back to April of 2018, where he defeated Dan Cormier on a Cage Titans card. Kealohi will look to pick up on his three-fight streak of wins he obtained from 2018 to 2019, all being stoppage wins with strikes.
Bout 5: Jacob Thrall (6-3-1) vs. Ricky Furar (4-2) (Bantamweight)
Two fighters looking to bounce back from previous LFA losses will square off when Jacob Thrall faces Ricky Furar. Thrall fought last July, dropping a decision to Leandro Gomes. The loss ended a two-fight streak of victories which included his LFA debut. Furar’s last competed in June of 2019, being stopped by Kyle Estrada in the second round with a leg kick. He has two previous wins in Bellator.
Bout 6: Andre Fialho (10-3) vs. Antonio dos Santos Jr. (8-4) (Welterweight)
The co-main event sees Andre Fialho fight Antonio dos Santos Jr. The fight is Fialho’s first since participating in the 2019 PFL season. Fialho lost the two bouts he took in the season. Prior to then, Fialho had four wins in Bellator.
Dos Santos Jr., a former UFC fighter, will see his first LFA fight after two wins on the regional scene. Dos Santos Jr. had a two-fight stint in the UFC from 2014 to 2015, losing both of his fights before going elsewhere.
Bout 7: Kevin Wirth (8-1) vs. Askar Askar (10-1) (Bantamweight)
In the main event of the evening, rising bantamweights Kevin Wirth and Askar Askar will compete in their first main event bout. Wirth picked up his first LFA win just over a year ago, defeating Ryan Lilley via decision at LFA 74. The win was his third-in-a-row on the regional scene.
Askar’s last fight was his first loss as a pro. After picking up 10-in-a-row, it only took 39 seconds for Saidyokub Kakharamonov to stop Askar with punches last February. Askar’s previous wins came in promotions like Titan FC, Island Fights, Victory FC and LFA.
