A positive COVID-19 test has taken Mounir Lazzez out of his October 17th bout against David Zawada, per a report from Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie.
It is not known currently whether Zawada will get a replacement opponent.
The fight was set to be Lazzez’s second in the UFC. He made his promotional debut earlier in the year, defeating Abdul Razak Alhassan via decision.
Zawada was scheduled to make have his first fight in 2020. He last competed in November of 2019, catching Abubakar Nurmagomedov in the first round with a triangle choke to win.
The fight in October was the second in 2020 that has been cancelled for Zawada, as an April bout against Anthony Rocco Martin was thrown out after the intensified spread of COVID-19 forced UFC to pause events.
