A matchup between Carla Esparza and Amanda Ribas for UFC 256 has fallen through, per a report from Guilherme Cruz, Damon Martin and Mike Heck of MMA Fighting.
According to the report, the plan is to find Ribas a new opponent for the pay-per-view card which is expected to happen in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on December 12th.
While the bout was reportedly being added to the card, it was never officially secured for the card.
If the fight were to happen, both fighters would have carried their five-fight streaks of wins into the cage.
Esparza earned her fifth-straight win in July, taking a split decision over Marina Rodriguez.
Ribas won an opening bout for UFC 251 in July, stopping Paige VanZant within a round via armbar.
UFC 256 is currently set to have a headliner between UFC Featherweight Champion Amanda Nunes and Megan Anderson.
