2018 PFL Heavyweight Champion Philipe Lins has been forced out of his November 7th UFC bout against Don’Tale Mayes due to injury.
News of the injury was first reported by Marcelo Barone and Raphael Marinho of Combate.
The fight was set to be part of a “Fight Night” card that was expected to take place from Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
It is not known if Mayes will get a replacement opponent.
Lins and Mayes were booked against one another after having a similar start in the UFC. Both having fought twice in the UFC each, neither has picked up a win in the promotion.
Lins has lost his two UFC fights this year, dropping bouts to Andrei Arlovski and Tanner Boser.
Mayes made his UFC debut in October of 2019, being caught in a heel hook late against Ciryl Gane. Mayes returned last May, being stopped in the second round by Rodrigo Nascimento.
