James Vick has been released by the UFC after 14 fights in the promotion. News of the release was first reported by Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.
Vick’s departure from the promotion comes after a four-fight losing streak from 2018 to 2019. Three of the losses came within a round due to strikes.
Vick entered the UFC after being a part of season 15 of “The Ultimate Fighter.” He picked up a five-fight streak of since from 2013 to 2016. The momentum was stopped at UFC 199 when he was defeated by Beneil Dariush.
Vick went on another tear from 2017 to 2018, picking up four wins, three of which came via stoppage.
The losing streak for Vick started with a headlining bout against now-interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje.
