Finishing off Saturday’s preliminary card, former KSW Lightweight Champion Mateusz Gamrot made his UFC debut against Guram Kutateladze. Their fight went like this.
Bout 6: Mateusz Gamrot (17-0) vs. Guram Kutateladze (11-2) (Lightweight)
Gamrot scored a takedown a minute into the fight, taking full guard on top. Kutateladze looked for a heel hook from the bottom. Gamrot looked for a heel hook of his own that forced Kutateladze to the feet. Kutateladze stopped a single leg attempt in the fourth minute of the round. Kutateladze was more active on the feet during the round.
Kutateladze dropped Gamrot with a punch to start the second round. Gamrot was quick to return to his feet and go back to striking. Kutateladze stopped a takedown in the second minute of the round. Kutateladze was throwing and often connecting with combinations of strikes on the fight. Gamrot caught a leg kick for a takedown in the fourth minute of the fight. Kutateladze looked for an omoplata from the bottom position that Gamrot escaped. The fight returned to the feet with 30 seconds left in the round. Kutateladze stopped a takedown in the final moments of the round.
Kutateladze denied another takedown to start the third round. Gamrot scored a takedown in the second minute of the round. Gamrot landed a knee to the head after Kutateladze returned to his feet. Gamrot landed a perfectly timed double leg takedown in the final 30 seconds of the round. He held top position, throwing punches and attempting to advance until the round expired. A split decision went the way of Kutateladze after three rounds (29-28 Gamrot, 29-28 Kutateladze & 29-28 Kutateladze).
RESULT: Guram Kutateladze def. Mateusz Gamrot via Decision, Unanimous
