Bout 5: Casey Kenney (15-2-1) vs. Nathaniel Wood (17-4) (Catchweight 140 lbs)
The fighters went into a fast pace of striking very quickly in the fight. While both fighters landed a very high volume of punches and kicks, Kenney was connected with the harder punches throughout the round.
The second round started with the same pace as the first, although it slowed down as the round progressed. Kenney continued to connect with hard punches to Wood, although the pace of his striking started to slow down as minutes ticked by. Wood was still matching the volume of punches that Kenney had, although Kenney had the more impactful strikes. Takedown attempts were blocked by Wood throughout the round.
Kenney got on the back of Wood in the second minute of the final round, taking him to his knees in the position. The fight went back to striking with two minutes left after Wood battled a takedown attempt. Going to the judges for a winner, Kenney was picked by the judges (29-28, 29-28 & 30-27).
RESULT: Casey Kenney def. Nathaniel Wood via Decision, Unanimous
