Khabib Nurmagomedov was among the four fighters given $50,000 bonuses for their performances on Saturday’s UFC 254 card.
Along with the now-retired UFC Lightweight Champion, Magomed Ankalaev was given a performance bonus, and a fight between Casey Kenney and Nathaniel Wood was awarded “Fight of the Night.”
All of the fights took place from “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Nurmagomedov’s win, which he claimed would be the last in his career, came in the main event against Justin Gaethje. Nurmagomedov caught Gaethje in the second round with a triangle choke to finish the fight and retain his lightweight belt for the third time.
Anaklaev’s win kicked off the card, with him stopping Ion Cutelaba in the first round via knockout. The fight was a rematch from February, which ended in controversial fashion after what some argued was an abrupt stoppage to give Cutelaba a loss.
A 140-pound catchweight bout between Kenney and Wood was picked by the UFC as the top fight of the evening. The fight, a win for Kenney via decision, was a fast-paced striking battle through three rounds.
