Bellator Flyweight Champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane will look to defend her belt for the fifth time on December 10th when matched against Juliana Velasquez.
The matchup, which is scheduled to happen at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA, was first reported by Ariel Helwani of ESPN.
Macfarlane has ruled the flyweight division in the promotion for a few years now. The Hawaiian fighter claimed the belt in 2017, stopping Emily Ducote in the fifth round with an armbar.
She has since defended it four times, most recently in December of 2019 against Kate Jackson.
Macfarlane and Velasquez have something in common, that being they are both undefeated as pros.
Velasquez has won all five of her appearances in Bellator. Her last win came on the same card as Macfarlane’s last defence, defeating Bruna Ellen via decision to claim her 10th win as a pro.
The matchup is the first for Bellator to be reported for a December date.
